Description:The Summit House is four bedrooms and five baths, one of a few private homes in Mount Nebo State Park seven miles west of Dardanelle, Arkansas. This 4,400 ' lodge-like-house is perched on the mountain 's edge, 1700 feet above the Arkansas River Valley. It offers 60-mile views of the valley and Ozark Mountain Ranges. Great price for what you get. There is a walmart at the bottom of the hill to visit a for food. Beautiful and the view even more so. The photos don 't do this beautiful little corner of the mountain it 's due. From the coffee grinder, to the grill, to the bedding, to the boardgames/horse shoes, to the thick and luxurious towels it is more spacious than you expect, and there is plenty of room for your group to spread out or gather round the table for a meal, without it being cramped. It was a very spacious and accommodating kitchen, more than enough cabinet space and stocked with the essential appliances and utensils. Fireplace, charcoal grill, and fire pit...I was at these more than I slept. Absolutely fundamental to the experience for me. Being ON the trail around the Sunset/Sunrise Points loop was also wonderful r nThe views from the porch and the picture windows are spectacular! The cabin is well-supplied with everything one could need from cooking utensils to hand soap. The cabin is well-supplied with dvds, books, games, and blankets. Also Gala Golf course and Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville 15 miles south on hwy 27, or visit any of the seven courses in Hot Springs Village -- 60 miles south on Hwy 7, which was voted one of the top ten scenic highways in the US. r nBranson, Mo. is approximately 120 miles north on Hwy 7, which is an excellent day trip. The 34,000-acre Lake Dardanelle is at the foot of the mountain, and hosts bass tournaments annually with excellent fishing. r nTemperatures on the mountain are five to ten degrees cooler than in the valley, and we enjoy a pleasant breeze which makes this a great oasis in the summer months.
