Description:Every bedroom is a miniature palace: unique, enchanting, and luxurious. Every turn of an outdoor path leads to a secret garden overhung with vines. And when you come to the edge, the view…, Well, words can't describe this vista. With a history dating back to the year Columbus discovered America, this Moorish holiday villa in Andalusia is a work of art, history, and painstaking restoration. You won't even need to visit the museum room in this Spanish luxury villa in Andaluca, because history unfolds around you like a fine silk tapestry. Smell that warm, dusty Spanish air, tinged with the scent of flowers? That's Time. n n[6,660 m2] Behind the protective wall that surrounds the estate, you will delight in this villa's 200-year-old Moorish ornamental gardens, which have been laboriously restored to their former glory. Here you can wander or relax in total peace and tranquility, surrounded by centuries-old palm trees, shady bowers, and colorful exotic plants. Ancient cypress hedges border an attractive swimming pool fed by a natural spring, and other facilities on-site include a private chapel [open for guests at any time, see description below], a tennis court, and an outside summer bar/dining area. Everything is surrounded by magnificent views of the hillsides and valley. Entrance to the property is controlled electronically, guaranteeing privacy at all times. n n[1,600 m2] This villa estate is comprised of a main house, a cottage [which is 50 yards away and outside of the property's electronic gate], and a chapel, has been elegantly and thoughtfully renovated so as to preserve its unique atmosphere and outstanding historical features, including some of the original furniture and decorations. The owners work hard to maintain a residence that is as visually authentic as possible—,that's why you won't see the typical air conditioning or central heating units, or find mini-bars or telephones in the rooms. In the winter heating is provided electrically and on open log fires for the lounge areas. Guests can also communicate by telephone, fax, or email from the library. nMain House [1,200 m2, sleeps 20] nGround Floor: The focal point of the main floor is without a doubt the magnificent vaulted and columned drawing room, with an original stone fireplace, chairs, couches, and tables scattered throughout the room. Other main rooms include a wood-paneled drawing room, a library, an inner patio, and a billiard room/museum. The formal dining room has seating for at least 14, while the large kitchen is fully equipped with two ovens, 4 refrigerators, industrial dishwasher, microwave, toasters, and other kitchen appliances. A separate laundry room has a washing machine, iron, and ironing board as well as a large deep freeze. There is also one bedroom on the ground floor: nRoom 10 has two twin beds that can be joined upon request and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. Another bedroom, Room 11, is reserved as a staff room. nFirst Floor: There are ten bedrooms on the first floor. All rooms are individually decorated and, like the rest of the house, furnished with antiques and curios. Bathrooms are all en suite except for room 12. nRoom 1: This large, north-facing room has a 160 cm queen-size bed, a sitting area, and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and tub with handheld showerhead. nRoom 2: This suite contains a 160 cm queen-size 4-poster bed, a living room area, and a luxury en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, large bathtub, and separate shower. The bedroom faces south and west. nRoom 3: This bedroom is south-facing and has a 160 cm brass queen-size bed, an en suite bathroom [sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead], and views over garden. nRoom 4: A south-facing room with two twin beds that can be joined upon request and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. nRoom 5: This south-facing room has two twin beds that can be joined upon request and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. nRoom 6: Facing south and east, this bedroom has the best views. It is spacious and contains a canopied 160 cm double bed and a luxury bathroom with sink, toilet, and tub with handheld showerhead. nRoom 7: This bedroom has two twin beds that can be joined upon request and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. A connecting room contains a sofa bed suitable for one. The room faces north and east. nRoom 8: This north facing room with a living area has two twin beds that can be joined upon request and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and tub with handheld showerhead. nRoom 9: In the rear tower, this bedroom contains a 4-poster 160 cm queen-size bed and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. It faces south and east and also has a private terrace. nRooms 10 and 11 are on the ground floor. nRoom 12: In the front tower, this room contains two twin beds [can be joined upon request], with a separate bathroom [sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead] in a converted dovecote on the floor above. nCottage [400 m2, sleeps 4] nPlease be aware that the cottage is located 50 yards away from the main house outside of the property's walls and situated next to a few other residential cottages. Ground Floor: This cottage by the main villa has recently been decorated in a rustic style and has electric heating. A small vine-covered terrace leads to the front door, into the entrance hall, and a fully equipped modern kitchen with cook-top, washing machine, and dishwasher. There is also a sitting room with an open fireplace and French windows that open onto a west-facing terrace with panoramic views over an unspoiled valley. One bathroom has a sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. nFirst Floor: There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with two single beds [can be joined upon request] and en suite bathrooms with sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead. The landing between them is a study area with an open fireplace and stairs to a storage area in the attic. One of the bedrooms has a view of the valley, while the other overlooks the courtyard. nThe Chapel: Constructed circa 1890, the chapel was dedicated to the Virgin of Lourdes by the Marquesa, the last member of the original family, after a pilgrimage to Lourdes cured her of cancer. During the Spanish Civil War [1936-9], the chapel was ransacked, but after the war, the Marquesa returned, refurbished the chapel with religious artifacts from her home in Madrid. The building then resumed its role as religious centre of the estate, used for wedding blessings, baptisms, and other religious services. Today, a statue of the Virgin of Lourdes presides over the altar, which is more than two centuries old. Colorful carved saints look down from the walls, and the original marble font stands beside the entrance. The chapel's vaulted roof and high windows provide subtle lighting and atmosphere for an intimate ceremony. Seating capacity is for 35 people. Power outlets are available for extra photographic lighting or taped music. n nLocated in the hills between the monumental city of Granada and the Costa Tropical, this villa is entirely private, while still enjoying easy access to bustling seaside villages. This area is one of the less modernized areas of the Spanish Mediterranean, perfect for those who want to avoid tourist traps. Within the range of a days' excursion, you'll find a huge selection of things to do and see. Most water sports can be found in Almunecar and La Herradura, while horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking opportunities abound in the hills surrounding the villa and in the Alpujarras. The Sierra Nevada is host to one of Spain's best winter ski resorts, Sol y Nieve. An 18-hole golf course is located just outside Granada. The city of Granada itself has a wealth of monuments, including the Alhambra Palace [Spain's most visited monument] and its gardens. Also interesting are the old gypsy quarter of Sacromonte, the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel, La Alcaicieria [old silk market], the Arab baths, and an archaeological museum. For those more interested in rural wonders, few mountain villages are more impressive than those in the spectacular Alpujarra mountain region, classified by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. Toward the coast and down through the verdant Tropical Valley [full of exotic fruit orchards], you'll find Almunecar. This local market town is worth a visit for its Moorish castle, botanical gardens, and Roman monuments. To the east lies Salobrena, a picturesque white village surrounded by sugar cane fields and crowned with another Arab fortress. To the west you will find Nerja, home to one of the largest cave systems in the country, and the tallest stalactite pillar in the world. Description:(Minimum of one week rental required) Villa Tocchi is located in the valleys of the Merse River, in the south of the province of Siena, not far from Montalcino and Pienza. You 're not going to come across the place by chance, it lies well off the beaten track. Here life follows the rhythms of nature, in keeping with the ancient Roman concept of otium, of the leisure and time that are needed to restore body and mind. In and around the property one can find hills, forests, lakes, wild animals, vegetable gardens, orchards and a private astronomical observatory. This luxurious villa offers stylish interiors imbued with natural materials and highlighted with a soothing combination of colors. The Villa comfortably accommodates 27 guests in 14 bedrooms, all tastefully furnished with antiques, flat-screen TV, fine linens and towels, and Florentine soaps and shampoos. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with bathtub or shower. nIn the extensive gardens there is a large, infinity swimming pool overlooking the wooded valley. The lawn surrounding the pool is dotted with sunbeds, chaise lounges and umbrellas, all at the guests ' disposal. A large, sunny panoramic terrace, furnished with wicker sofas and armchairs, overlooks the tree spa bath. The calidarium (hot), frigidarium (cold), and tepidarium (tepid) guide guests through a unique sensory experience: the three large baths - each containing water at a different temperature - whose infinity edges offer visual continuity with the surrounding green valleys, offer complete relaxation. There is a wellness center replete with a Finnish sauna, yoga room, and a gymnasium with workout equipment. Guests can have breakfast, half or full board service on request. Dishes offered reflect typical Tuscan cuisine, with products culled from the large organic vegetable garden and livestock raised on the estate (such as pigs, cows, sheep, goats and trout). Far away from the light pollution of the city, the astronomical observatory of the Villa, set on a hill rising out of the wood to a height of 350 meters above sea level, offers its visitors unforgettable experiences. nOnce a hamlet dating back XII century, the recently restored villa is now a luxury destination situated among the hills of the Tuscan countryside. It 's the ideal place for a taste of the old Tuscany and to rediscover the classical elements of existence. The property is protected by thousands of hectares of forest belonging to the natural biogenetic reserve of Tocchi, of which 100 are part of the villa 's estate and 25 are fenced off. nVilla Tocchi is ideal for friends on vacation or destination weddings (with terraces capable of seating up to 200 guests), for gatherings of stargazers, yoga courses or incentive groups, for managers who need to recharge their batteries, for team building programs, small-scale meetings or original events. The Villa is actually a small hamlet of three adjoining buildings, in which the bedrooms are located, many of them opening off cozy lounges. Here, guests can sit on comfortable sofas by the fireplace to read, listen to music or sip a good Tuscan wine. Refined in their simplicity, all the spaces combine tradition and luxury: flat-screen Satellite TVs, fast Internet connection, linens locally manufactured, toiletries made from olive oil, private bathroom with shower and/or tub, hairdryer, underfloor heating supplied with hot water from a biomass-fueled boiler and solar photovoltaic and thermal panels, as well as a cellar-effect cooling system, again located under the floor (on request). The villa also offers a state-of-the-art kitchen with wood-burning oven, an attractively furnished dining room with seating for 27, movie theater, library with books, DVD 's and CD 's, private heliport, and shuttle service. nFar away from the light pollution of the city, the astronomical observatory of the Villa offers its visitors unforgettable experiences. Description:(Minimum of one week rental required) Minimum rental one week rental Saturday to Saturday except for urban apartments. The incredible Piccolo Versailles is a one-of-a-kind property, in the category of palaces and grand chateaux. In fact it 's valued by the Italian Government as a registered historical property. The original owners spent spring through autumn at the property during which time they received kings, princes, dukes, ambassadors, and literary celebrities for lavish balls, concerts, and presentations. The famous neo-classical architect Nottolini designed the villa that was constructed in the early 1800 's on a well chosen site overlooking the beautiful Lucca plains. The vast landscape was designed and planted according to the fashion of the late 1700 era when many palace owners modified the scenographic plans of their gardens according to the English style of that time that gave free development to nature and escaped the usual geometric schemes of the Italian garden. The garden is maintained by a permanent gardener and is perfection itself. The present owners have restored the interior and exterior to original grandeur, as well as upgrading with modern conveniences such as an alarm system. Visitors often refer to this splendid villa as little Versailles. There are several other buildings on the estate, including the lemon house that is often used for weddings, the steward 's house which dates to 1600 and was the original villa of the estate, a private chapel, and pool house. Furnishings include many elegant antiques of the original period and the rooms are decorated with great fresco paintings on many walls and ceilings. In this place you are encircled with grand history and culture, and a staff of 3 (butler, cook, and maid) are included. Also included is a welcome dinner your first night. The city of Lucca attracts tourists from around the world to its historic sights. The Duomo Cathedral, St. Michael 's Church and the streets and squares of Old Town are favorite destinations. A three mile series of ramparts, complete with eleven bastions and four gateways was erected around the city in the 16th and 17th centuries for protection. It 's fun for the energetic to walk the length of this wall. Piccolo Versailles includes a massive 8000 square feet of living space and 70 hectares (about 30 acres) of land which makes it a perfect setting for large reunion parties, weddings, and elegant and private holidays. On the ground floor there is a large and impressive foyer opening onto the formal back garden, a living room, library, dining room, another large living room with grand piano that seats up to 50 people for parties and banquets, an old tuscan kitchen used as a breakfast room, another fully equipped kitchen, service rooms, and a bathroom. The first floor has a vast and elegant reception / living room, a television / music / play room, and a single twin bedroom with ensuite bath. The second floor has two double bedrooms with ensuite baths, and one single twin bedroom with ensuite bath that are all equipped with fans and screens. There are three additional bedrooms: one double bedroom and two single bedrooms, plus two baths. The villa has modern central heating, an alarm system, and a fax. The butler, maid, and a very good cook are included in the price as well as preparation and groceries for your first evening meal. Sorry, because of the beauty and historical value of the house, no children under 12 allowed unless with assigned nanny. Here in the heart of one of many wine-producing areas of Italy, your home-away-from-home is an ideal location for short jaunts to the most renowned sites of Tuscany. Florence is less than an hour away by car, and Forte dei Marmi for golf and the famous beaches of the Medtiterranean only a half hour. Pietrasanta, the artists ' town is a must see. Pisa and Carrara and the Michelangelo marble caves are nearby as well.
