Unfinished basement has a ping pong table for those rare rainy days. r n r nThe double decker dock sits at the beginning of a quiet cove that allows for children to play safely in the water. The dock also features a single boat slip, swim deck and covered area on the top deck equipped with ceiling fans to keep you cool even on the warmest days. Owner 's boat is on a lift in the slip but there is plenty of room for two more boats on either side of the dock. r n r nIt is just a short drive to Harbor Light Marina (where you can rent boats and jet skis) or to Tugaloo State Park which has a beach area, picnic area, miniature golf and other amenities. Toccoa Falls and shopping in Toccoa are only a 15 minute drive from the house.

The home was designed and built (2003) with simplicity of style to maximize the lake front lot, is decorated throughout with both new and old pieces which we have gathered over the years and includes features which make such a place comfortable and practical. The combination Great Room, Dining and Kitchen are fully equipped, bed linens are furnished along with towels/cloths for bath and lake. Two bedrooms are on the main level with others on the second floor, some with direct lake views. A large open sun deck plus a screened porch with hot tub provide views of the lake and mountains. nWalk a few steps down to the dock where you can enjoy swimming, sun bathing, kayaking (2), fishing (with proper license) and if you like, a private boat can be rented from the marina and kept at the dock during your stay. The lake is all fresh water, fed by numerous mountain streams, and is always refreshing! n nLake Toxaway is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and as a private resort, has been a vacation and summer playground for the rich and famous such as Edison, Ford, DuPont, et al in the early 1900s, and in 1916 heavy rains caused the lake dam to fail. Reopened for new development beginning in the 1950s, families have built their private residences and second homes here, and enjoy an impressive array of amenities, many year 'round. Several thousand acres comprise the Lake Toxaway Estates, and only property owners are permitted access to the lake and environs. nWhen you want to shop, buy groceries, dine out or just browse, the town of Brevard is just 17 miles away, and the town of Cashiers (emphasis on first syllable)is just 13 miles. There are several national forests and park lands in this region including The Great Smoky Mountains, Pisgah National Forest, Nantahala National Forest, Cherokee Indian reservation and state parks where boundless trails and fishing streams await your exploration! n
