It 's 10 miles (16 km) north of downtown LA and 3 miles (5km) from Pasadena our larger sister city, home to both CalTech and the world-famous Rose Bowl. r n r nFrom your suite 's location on a peaceful cul-de-sac you can walk a few blocks to the picturesque town center where you 'll find some of the best locally-owned restaurants, cafes, delis, and bakeries in the LA area, antique shops and modern clothing boutiques, even a small Irish pub, without the hassle of parking and noise in the big city. r n r nWhen you feel like seeing more of LA the above-ground Gold Line Metro is a safe, pleasant 10-minute walk from your door. For those with a car, access to several major freeways is within a mile or two. Free overnight parking available at the suite for one car, but must be reserved in advance, please let me know. r n r nNote that while this space has everything you need, decorated with an artist 's eye to color and texture, it is put together on an environmentally conscious and cozy scale--180 sq feet total. There 's a table across from the bed where you can comfortably eat, write or set up your laptop, but there is no separate sitting or living area. r n r nFreshly painted with new appliances, a great shower with terrific water pressure, original hardwood floors, peaceful (wake to bird songs in the morning), but to be clear, it 's one -room living--other than a very short, private hall that goes to your very own bathroom and laundry. Ideal for one guest, may be workable for a happy twosome! Your baby/child is welcome if you like--we 're family-friendly--but there is only the one double bed. r n r nNigel, a kitten we recently rescued, lives in the adjacent unit. In keeping with our theme, he is a quiet guest, and he can 't get into your private suite. But if you are highly allergic it is something to consider. Also, if you have a pet to bring he/she must be quiet, clean and well-behaved and there is a $60 cleaning fee for all pet guests, regardless of length of stay. r n r nThere is a 10pm unreasonable noise curfew in town, at which time noise must be kept to levels that do not disturb the nearest neighbors. (A great place to get a good night 's sleep!) This is a calming space in a neighborhood and community of families and young professionals/artists-- a place to rest, create, work and relax. r n r nA few last, important notes: Light cooking area has frig/freezer, portable toaster/convection oven, great coffee maker, microwave, but no stovetop/range... Cigarette smoking outside on patio only, never in the suite, and no illegal activities of any kind...Suite is separate and private, but it does connect with one wall to another unit. Please no loud music...At non-rush hour downtown LA is usually a 20 minute ride, the local beaches or Disneyland 45 minutes, San Diego 2 hours, and if you want to cross the state to SF for an overnight, 6 hours.
