Description:Whether you are visiting NYC or you are between apartments and are in need of a cozy, inexpensive, safe, friendly & convenient place to stay, please contact me. You should also be kind, courteous with excellent manners and a friendly personality.I have a very small bedroom (10x6) to rent in a small but sweet 2 bedroom apartment available for short term stays. The apartment has exposed brick in every room except the bathroom. The apartment only has windows on one side (since it is the rear of the building) so it is not completely bright but our lovely yellow couch in the living room & balanced lighting makes for a bright cozy space. The bedroom is on the window side with curtains for privacy if desired. (see picture) I have a full-size bed which fits two people comfortably. Also the noise level is very low considering you are at the back of the building which is a BIG plus in Manhattan, especially for those light sleepers. You must know that space is limited and if you have large suitcases they may need to stay in the living room when you are using the bedroom. Just being honest :) If you feel more comfortable, just bring your suitcase lock and key. But we are wonderful and honest people and have great references. The apartment has a full functional kitchen, full bathroom and a living room available for you to enjoy during your stay. You are welcome to use any kitchenware and I will provide sheets, pillows, comforter and towels. We will take care of the cleaning (i.e. linens) upon your departure. I only ask that if you use any kitchen utensils, plates, cookware, etc. that you clean up after each use. The kitchen is to small for a table, so please feel free to sit in the living room and enjoy your meals should you be eating in. Remember also to keep the shared space neat and tidy!I have one super laid back male roommate who's schedule fluctuates on a daily basis. So, you should be comfortable with that type of environment. He is also very friendly and helpful and can tell you about the neighborhood if you are looking for something specific. He can sometimes keep odd hours and can also be a night owl at times, so having the place to yourself one night during your stay (which is always ideal for any guests) is not out of the question.Don't get us wrong...we LOVE a good party however (in this case) we do ask that you keep any parties outside of the apartment and no additional overnight guests. (2 max)Wifi is included in the rental of the space and I will leave a full renters manual for anyone renting the space including the Wifi passwords as well as nearby places to eat, shop, points of interest, subway maps, menu's for ordering in, etc.We do not have cable but we do have a Roku box with many movie/TV channels such as Hulu Plus & Netflix (both of which have tons of free movies and free television shows). Our building does not have a Laundry room but there is a laundry mat just steps from our front door which has great customer service, is super clean and cheap with drop off service as well and dry cleaning for your convenience. Our apartment is on the 2nd floor, just one flight up and we are in the Upper East (@ 102nd Street). The 23rd Police Precinct is on our block so you can feel safe and carefree on the big city . Our neighborhood is wonderful with a variety of cultures and our building is full of young professionals. The nearest subway is one block away from our building (we are on the 6 line). We are approx 15 minutes to Midtown by train and 7 minutes walking distance to Central Park. If you have a car or plan to rent a car, our block has a gas station right on the corner (which is a huge bonus in NYC) and there is always parking available in the area. Our location has everything within walking distance including a super market, small stores that are open late (for that late night craving) and we have a great restaurants including one right across the street with outdoor patio seating in nice weather. In addition to walking to Central Park we are also about a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute train ride to the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as the Guggenheim.I will try to accommodate anyone as best I can. If you have any special requests that would make your stay easier or more comfortable, please feel free to ask if you book our space.I will keep the basic staples in the kitchen for your use such as milk, bread, sugar, butter and condiments (ketchup, mayo, mustard). We have a Brita filter so you will always have filtered water. If you have a favorite cereal, drink or snack, please let me know and I would be happy to supply you with something so that you don't have to rush out the door immediately upon arrival (unless of course you want to).I hope that covered most or all. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, suggestions or concerns. If you are interested in renting the space, please tell me about yourself and we can go from there.I will ask you for references. Preferably a professional refrence and I would be happy to share those with you as well. I would also suggest swapping LinkdIn information so we can get to know each other before renting.Your stay includes use of linens, hairdryer, small armoire space, custom garment rack in bedroom, kitchen utilities, telelvision, wifi, sleep/sound machine, alarm clock with Ipod/Iphone deck and a lovely bike (in purple) in case you want to take a ride through Central Park and feel the NYC wind in your hair.I will also include (just like a any nice hotel) shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, cotton balls, q-tips and a wash cloth which you can take with you upon departure.Fact: This is 70% cheaper than your average/ decent NYC hotel. You save, I save. A win-win!:)
