Description:Oxford Street House commands both respect and envy with its immaculate looks and unrivalled location – and as a guest here, that effect may just rub off on you. Surrounded by high-end shopping, restaurants, luxury hotels and the private residences of entrepreneurs, dignitaries and entertainers, you’ll certainly begin to blend in with local VIP crowd. But beyond its address, our Oxford Street House apartment boasts much more to be desired. As with every Uber London Apartment, you can expect modern appliances and considered design. The stylish lounge is chic, restrained and sparingly seasoned with light touches of British kitsch that are totally at home in this fashionable part of town. Throughout the apartment, you’ll find confident flourishes of artwork and one-off furniture pieces that all seem to say ‘this is Mayfair’. People watch And, of course, this is Mayfair, known widely as playground of the wealthy and glamorous. This area is a favourite stomping ground of royalty, both national and international. You are just as likely to bump into an Arabian princess trying on shoes in Chanel, as you are to catch one of our own Princes in one of the smart nightclubs near by. The area’s exclusivity and discreteness allows the famous to let their hair down a little, so guessing who’s who gets to become something of a sporting challenge. On your Dior-step However, other than being a hub of privilege and wealth, Mayfair is a world-class destination for fashion. Just a short catwalk away from your door you’ll find Bond Street, a thoroughfare clothed in awnings and flags baring the names of the world’s most illustrious luxury designers. Glide by to see the big-name boutiques sit nonchalantly side-by-side whilst equally unruffled shoppers swan in and out amassing rather impressive collections of boxes and bags as they go. For more shopping, continue up Bond Street to Oxford Street, the busiest shopping street in Europe. The jewel on Oxford Street is undoubtedly Selfridges. The famous department store embodies both the unyielding ambition and glamour of the early 20th century that saw its conception, and the present day with the very latest in fashion, homeware, beauty and technology. Shoppers are scarcely seen leaving the building without one of their iconic yellow bags in tow. The full spectrum Cross over Regent Street and you’re in Soho, Mayfair’s colourful, party-loving next-door neighbour. Trade your shopping bags for a drinks menu and join in on the fun. The twisting Victorian alleyways, once the set of sauce and scandal, teem with a parade of sights and sounds that make sure this neighbourhood never has a dull moment. The entertainment scene here is truly 24 hours, as you watch a coffee and a show turn into dinner and a bar – and maybe even a club. For the committedly nocturnal, Bar Italia, London’s premier Italian espresso bar, is calling. With jukeboxes, neon lights and a fleet of Vespas parked outside, this perpetually lively coffee joint looks just as it did the 1950s after it was founded – with the addition of a television in the corner playing every big Italian soccer match. The baristas here pride themselves on making your coffee to your exact specifications, whether that’s at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, or 5 o’clock in the morning. Closing just for two hours each day in the early morning for cleaning and restocking, Bar Italia is just the place to reenergise if you find your afternoon in Soho has turned into an overnight visit. Hyde and go seek Escape from the bustle for some fresh air and open space without leaving the city by dashing across Park Lane to Hyde Park. At 640 acres, Hyde Park is larger than the whole of Monaco, and is one of London’s not-so-hidden treasures. With lakes, rose gardens and tree-lined paths, it’s easy to imagine how this park must have been centuries ago. Throughout the year, Hyde Park hosts a range of activities, from swimming and horse riding to huge pop, rock and classical concerts and, once the holiday season descends, the much-loved Winter Wonderland. However, you’ll see the locals enjoying a spot of jogging, rowing and team sports all year round. This oasis of calm is one of the best spots to take a break from the city that vibrates around it. Go for a quiet stroll or find a park bench and meditate. Get lost in Hyde Park and find yourself. Oxford Street House is perfectly located for a trip of contrasts that showcases London at its best. All within walking distance from the apartment are: -Piccadilly Circus -The River Thames -Covent Garden -Harrods -Kensington Palace -Regents Park -Leicester Square -Buckingham Palace, and much more. And your Uber London Apartment is a minute’s walk from two Underground stations in either direction, making the rest of London just as accessible for guests who want to explore.
