Take the bus 10 minutes the other way to historic Ballard or Fremont neighborhoods. The bedroom has a double bed and a couch in the large living room. Description:The studio has a large combined living/​sleeping area that is light and airy. There is a sweeping sunset view of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. In the front alcove is a queen-sized bed. The couch is also a futon that we can make up as a double bed, or we can set up a portable crib, upon request. There is a tv with basic cable and a DVD player, and a desk where you can set up your laptop to take advantage of our high-speed wireless internet connection. In the full-sized kitchen, you will find a dining table with four chairs, full-sized refrigerator, oven/​stove, coffee maker, microwave, and juicer. The cabinets are filled with all the dishes and equipment you will need to prepare a snack or a meal. We stock Seattle’s Best coffee and some pantry items to get you started. The bathroom includes all the necessities as well as a sink with separate faucets for the hot and the cold (which Seinfeld fans will recognize as “very charming”). There is a shower (no tub) and we provide clean towels, a hair dryer, and some basic toiletries. The studio occupies the second story of a rambling Craftsman-style home. The studio and main floor have separate entries and are completely closed off from one another inside. Your entry is up a flight of stairs in the backyard. Full-time tenants live on the main floor and in a separate cottage on the property and share the yard space. The yard is a pleasant place to relax with a picnic table and mini charcoal grill. Although you may feel like you’re worlds away from it all when tucked inside the quiet, peaceful studio, you will actually be just 2-1/​2 blocks from the heart of our neighborhood. Walk up the street to the West Seattle Junction to find great restaurants, coffe shops, shopping, a pharmacy, grocery stores, and nightlife. Our neighborhood, West Seattle is also home to Seattle’s finest waterfront areas: Alki Beach and Lincoln Park. Alki provides summer fun and excellent views of downtown Lincoln Park is great for a hike in the woods or a dip in the saltwater swimming pool. We recommend riding the Elliot Bay Water Taxi from Seacrest Pier to downtown Seattle. By car, downtown Seattle is just 10 minutes. Or, another great hassle-free option is to hop on a metro bus and ride just 15-20 minutes.
